We love to meet new businesses and new business owners. Please register and join us for the evening.
ConnectW is a women’s networking group that welcomes women in all fields and endeavors—from entrepreneurs and professionals to women simply wishing to explore, expand and enhance their lives and environments.
Join us for networking, socializing, and a light dinner from Tate & Tate Catering.
The cutoff for registration without a late fee is the end of the day on the Friday before the meeting. If tickets are “out of stock”, please email info@connectw.org to be put on a wait list.
Advocacy 101: All You Need to Know to be an Effective Advocate for Change with Sara Odendahl
Participants will learn how to be an advocate for their business, their family, their health, or a specific policy issue. Additionally, participants will learn how to craft an appropriate advocacy message and engage others in the pursuit of change.
Objectives for the Evening
1. What is advocacy and why is it important to you?
2. Crafting your message – What is your elevator pitch?
3. The ask: Who, What, When, and How to make an ask
Sara is a Co-Founder and Owner at The Collective NWX, a collaborative workspace in NorthWest Crossing. She is a community-minded problem solver, collaborator, negotiator, strategic thinker, and facilitator. She has over twenty years of marketing, public affairs, and strategic communications experience in Denver, Colorado, and is now thrilled to now call Bend, Oregon home. She is also Principal of Clearwater Strategy, a government affairs consulting firm focusing on local, regional, and state issues in Oregon. When she’s not working the front desk or planning the next event at The Collective NWX, she’s enjoying being a mom of two fiercely independent young girls, practicing yoga, and exploring the Central Oregon outdoors.
